Background
Makawanpur is one of the less affected districts but also one of the least served ones.
Almost 40,000 households were heavily affected by the earthquake, but Makawanpur has received a little coverage; only 24% of the affected households received a tarpaulin or a tent as emergency shelter relief, but due to overlap of self-recovery item distributions (CGI or Cash), the coverage figure is nearly 100% with significant gaps in some VDCs (Hatiya, Harnamadi,
Padampokhari).
Current Situation
Distribution of NRP 10,000 to 2308 HHs in 5 VDCs by Nepal Red Cross Society has been completed.
Similarly, ICCO with the help of CCDN has completed distribution of voucher worth NPR 12500 to 244 HHs of Chitlang VDC.1303 HHs are being assisted by ICCO and Plan International by voucher and in kind in present.
The distribution is supposed to be completed by the end of December.Tear Fund and PI have a confirmed plan to distribute cash and in kind (depending upon the need) to 5265 HHs in 6 VDCs of Makawanpur.
