Background
Gorkha is the epicentre of the earthquake in Nepal with one of the highest figures of damaged houses.
Therefore, Gorkha was highly covered with both emergency shelter relief -almost 100% of affected households received a tent or tarpaulinand self-recovery shelter with the distribution of CGI sheets or their equivalent in cash (15,000 NPRs, mostly by the government) reaching more than 95% of the affected population.
Current Situation
Save the Children and OXFAM have completed distribution of inkind(Winter kit as per SC guidance) and voucher(worth NPR 13,000) to 2399 HHS.
PIN along with CRS, CARE and Save the Children are jointly distributing cash, in kind and voucher to 9151 HHs which is still in progress.
CARE is planning to distribute cash/In kind (depending on the need) to 5289 HHs of 5 VDCS.
Similarly, Christian Aid is planning to distribute full winter package to 212 HHs of Samagaun VDC.
